Privacy policy

Pinchr. Effective 25 September 2026.

Pinchr is an Android app from Akim Works that compresses photos and videos on your phone. This policy explains what the app accesses and what is shared. It covers the app published as Pinchr (com.akimworks.pinchr).

Photos and videos

You choose the files. They come in through the system photo picker or the Android share sheet. Pinchr reads those files only to compress them.

Compression runs on your device. Pinchr does not upload your photos or videos to Akim Works or to an ad network. We do not operate a server that receives your media.

When a file finishes compressing, Pinchr saves a copy to your gallery, in Pictures/Pinchr or Movies/Pinchr. Those copies stay until you delete them in Pinchr or in your gallery app. While a batch is running, Pinchr also keeps a temporary working copy in the app’s private storage. That working copy is removed when it is no longer needed.

A notification stays visible while compression is running so Android does not stop the job when you leave the app. The notification shows progress and a cancel action. It does not contain your photos.

Pinchr shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use:

your device’s advertising ID
IP address
device and app information, such as device model, language, and the version of Pinchr
coarse location derived from your IP address
ad interactions, such as whether an ad was shown or clicked
diagnostic data related to ad delivery

That data is used to show ads, measure them, and limit fraud. It is processed by Google under Google’s privacy policy. AdMob’s notes for users are in Google’s advertising guide.

Your photos and videos are not sent to AdMob.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your phone’s Google settings.

What we do not do

We do not ask you to create an account.
We do not sell your photos, videos, or contact list.
We do not collect your contacts, SMS, or precise GPS location.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
